Go to Green Smoothie
I love a green smoothie, it is a great and easy way to sneak a serving of vegetables into your day and the spirulina in this one adds an even more powerful nutrient punch. Spirulina could be called the most nutrient dense food on the planet due to its concentration of protein and vitamins, and I think it's a great thing to keep in your pantry to throw into smoothies. This smoothie is great for those who are just getting into the green juice/smoothie thing, or those who have a sweet tooth like me as this definitely doesn't taste like you're eating blended spinach. I often add hemp protein powder, especially if I drink it after a workout to add some protein. I also add ashwagandha to all my morning smoothies, it is a Ayurvedic herb that is used to help combat stress and adrenal fatigue, I'll leave a link here if you're interested in reading more about it. This go to green smoothie is easy to throw together and makes for a great on the go breakfast, I often take it to work in lidded jar.

FOR THIS RECIPE YOU'll NEED
- large handful spinach
- 1/2 frozen banana
- handful of frozen mango or about 1/2 cup
- handful of frozen pineapple or about 1/2 cup
- tsp spirulina
- tsp hemp seeds
- 2 tbsp hemp protein *optional
- 1/4 tsp ashwagandha *optional
- 1/2 cup almond milk
- water to thin out until desired consistency is reached
- Just chuck all the ingredients in a blender and blend on high until smooth.
*Pro tip: put the spinach in first to help it blend properly, light ingredients on the bottom and heavier ingredients on top help to push everything into the blades.
