Detox Green Smoothie

Drinking this in the morning will have you feeling amazing all day.  This nutrient dense smoothie is filled with lots of fiber, which helps keep your digestion healthy & happy. I use frozen bananas as the base for most of my smoothies as I feel they provide the best texture, they also contain potassium, iron, fiber, antioxidants, and many other healthy elements! This smoothie also has wild blueberries, not to be confused with regular old blueberries! Of course if you don't have access to wild blueberries you can definitely sub those in. Wild blueberries have been shown to have higher antioxidant levels but both are amazing for you. I love adding frozen greens to my smoothies, frozen veggies last way longer so I just find it more convenient. Hemp and chia seeds add healthy fats as well as fiber. In fact, hemp seeds actually contain all essential amino acids, which is especially important on a plant based/vegan diet, so I try to eat them everyday and adding them to a smoothie is the easiest way to do so! I also add ashwagandha to all my morning smoothies, it is a Ayurvedic herb that is used to help combat stress and adrenal fatigue, I'll leave a link here if you're interested in reading more about it, but of course feel free to leave it out. I know this smoothie is heavy on the greens, but I love the taste, it is earthy and subtly sweet. Although if you're a green smoothie newbie you may want to try this recipe for my go to green smoothie, which is much sweeter or feel free to add more fruit, frozen pineapple would work really well or go light on the greens powder in this one!
